Wexford Youths Women have been drawn away to DLR Waves in the First Round of the Sports Direct FAI Women’s Cup. The game will take place on weekending Sunday, 27th August.
The sides met each other at the Quarter Final stage of the Cup last season, the Youths going through to the last four after a 3-1 win at Ferrycarrig Park (the Dublin side ending the match with nine players after two sendings off in the second half). Wexford would exit the competition with a semi-final defeat to Athlone. Shelbourne are the current holders after beating Athlone in the decider at Tallaght Stadium.
Wexford have won the Cup on four occasions, 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2021.
