Ryan Butler Commits to Wexford FC for Another Season

Wexford FC is delighted to confirm that Ryan Butler will remain at Ferrycarrig Park for the upcoming season.

The Bunclody native enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last year, bursting onto the scene as a tenacious and highly capable defender. Comfortable operating both as a full back and a centre back, Butler made 24 appearances in all competitions and quickly established himself as a critical and versatile part of the Wexford back line.

Ryan’s pedigree was proven having been part of the outstanding Ireland U17 squad that competed at the World Cup in Qatar. That experience showed throughout the season, with his composure and intelligence balanced alongside his aggression and work rate.

One performance in particular summed up his character and reliability. In the unforgettable 4–3 home win against Kerry, Butler was asked to move into the centre of a back three while already on a yellow card. He responded with an exceptionally brave, measured and disciplined display, helping to secure a unforgettable victory.

Keeping a local player of Ryan’s quality and mentality is a significant boost as Wexford FC continues to build. The club looks forward to seeing him continue his development and impact in the seasons ahead.
