Wexford FC are delighted to confirm that defender Oisin McDonagh has completed his transfer to Serie A side Venezia FC
Oisin is an incredibly talented young defender, who will no doubt go from strength to strength with the Serie A club. The Venice-based club earned promotion back to the top flight in Italy last year. Oisin has played with the U20s this season with our academy as well as making his senior debut this month. He has been a regular in Paul Osam’s Irish squad over the last season.
Oisin was given a brilliant send off at Ferrycarrig Park last year, with his U17 teammates, academy coaches and his family all together for his departure. A very talented and motivated young Wexford player, we believe he will go on and have a great career and all wish him and his family the best for the future!
Speaking to the media team, Head of Football Operations John Godkin was proud of what the move means for Wexford FC:
“It’s a very important milestone for our academy, demonstrating the great strides we are making as a club and the importance of our underage squads reaching the elite stages of the national leagues. We look forward to monitoring and following Oisin’s progress in the coming years.”
Huge congratulations to Oisin and his family!
