Club Emails

The below guide is for those who have a club email. For any queries not covered by the below feel free to reach out to james@wexfordfc.ie

Who gets a club email

It’s up to club management to decide who gets a club email. If a club email is important for your duties let management know.

I’ve received a club email, how so I set it up?

If you’ve received a club email, you should set this up using an email client such as Outlook or Gmail. You can also login directly to the clubs email server with the details you were provided with, accessible via https://altmail.blacknight.com.

Note that emails should not be left on the club server above, and this is why emails should be downloaded to your email client. Emails have to go somewhere, so they initially land on the club server. If not removed, or downloaded via an email client, they will take up storage space, which costs resources and money.

In order to set up the club email you can use the below guides, along with the details you were provided with (email – which is also your username, password, and mail server).

When given the option to use IMAP or POP, always choose POP. This is very important. IMAP means the emails you see on your email client mirror what’s on the email server. If you delete an email from your email client, it will delete them from the server. POP email means you are downloading the emails from the email server, reducing the resource usage.

Getting emails forward to your personal email

Another option to ensure you receive all club emails as soon as they are sent it to ensure forwarding is set up. This means that any emails sent to your club email (ie. jimmy1@wexfordfc.ie are automatically forward to your personal email, which could be a hotmail, gmail or other email service). This is very useful as a backup option. If you do want this set up, please provide details of your club email to james@wexfordfc.ie and include your personal email that you want all mails to forward to.

I don’t think I’m receiving emails, what’s the problem?

If you’ve been sent an email and you feel it didn’t arrive in your inbox, check all the below:

  1. Check your Spam folder: In many cases, valid emails may be marked as spam. Check your spam or trash folder.
  2. Check that the email arrived at the Wexfordfc email server: Before emails are forward to you, or downloaded via POP or IMAP, they will be visible from https://altmail.blacknight.com. Login there using the email details you were provided with to check.
  3. Check with the sender. If they sent an email with an attachment too large in file size, it may be stuck, and therefore never send.
  4. Sent a test email to yourself, but not from the same address: Ask a friend to email you to check that it’s working.

I want to add a signature. How do I do it?

Adding a signature is always a good idea. It can contain your contact details and links to the club website or social media for your team. This is something that must be configured from the email service/client that you’re using. Some links below with guidelines for the most popular services:
