Wexford Co. Council signs Service Level Agreement with Wexford FC
“More than a Club” is an FAI driven project which is assisting League of Ireland football clubs to develop “Football Club in the Community” initiatives as well as a Football & Social Responsibility Strategy.
A grant of 50% of the cost of a Football & Social Responsibility (FSR) Officer for a period of two years has been allocated to the Wexford FC by the FAI in conjunction with Healthy Ireland to assist with this purpose.
Wexford County Council will provide the match funding on a local basis and partner with the Club in the Delivery of the programme. This match funding, amounting to a funding contribution of €40k, over a 2 -year basis to match the national commitment will be provided by Wexford County Council in line with this SLA.
The SLA between the Football Club and the FAI outlines that the Club FSR Officers will be tasked with developing, delivering and facilitating several programmes centred on health and well-being and social inclusion. The programmes will include core and optional programmes which will be based on identified local need.
The Programme will work in collaboration with the FAI “Football for all” programme and integrate with Wexford County Council’s other partnerships with National Governing Bodies and the Local Sports partnership – Wexford Sports Active
