Wexford FC are delighted to announce the signing of highly-rated full back Max Murphy from Bray Wanderers ahead of the 2026 season.
Murphy arrives at Ferrycarrig Park following an outstanding campaign in 2025, where he was named in the PFAI First Division Team of the Year after scoring an exceptional 10 goals in 33 appearances from full back. His arrival means Wexford FC now boast three members of the Team of the Year in the squad for 2026, alongside Mikie Rowe and Paul Martin.
A dynamic and attack-minded defender, Murphy has been a key figure at Bray Wanderers since 2023. Prior to that, he gained valuable top-flight experience with Bohemians, playing a full Premier Division season in 2022. His development pathway has also included time with Shamrock Rovers II and the Stoke City academy, underlining the pedigree he brings to the club.
Speaking on the signing, Wexford FC manager Stephen Elliott said:
“Absolutely thrilled to add Max to our group. He was one of the standout players in the league last season and will bring experience, know-how, and real quality to our squad. He really impressed me when we spoke, and securing his signature is a real coup for the club.”
