Wexford Youths WFC U19 Girls booked their spot in the EA Sports Cup Final after a dominating performance against Cork City yesterday.
The Youths were in the ascendancy from the very beginning and would have been in front at the break were it not for the City keeper and bad luck with goal bound efforts hitting the woodwork.
Ellen Molloy (pictured below) finally broke the deadlock in the 57th minute with a long range wonder strike. The nineteen year old would go on to play all 90 minutes, her first full game for Wexford after coming back from an ACL injury which kept her off the pitch for a year.
Mia Lenihan made it 2-0 and wrapped up an excellent win in the 90th minute.
The Youths will take on Shelbourne in the Final which is set for Sunday, 29th October, venue TBC.
It was not to be for our U17 girls in their Cup Semi-Final on Saturday, Athlone making it through on a 4-0 scoreline.
This years team is a very young group of players, the majority of which will be eligible to play U17 again next season. The girls have had a super season, getting to the Cup semis and they currently sit third in the League as the Academy season nears its conclusion.
