We are delighted to announce the appointment of former Wexford defender Stephen Last as our new Head of Academy Coaching!
Lasty was a core squad member at Wexford Youths from 2014 to 2016, before going on to strong career in coaching education across Ireland, the UK, and New Zealand, working with organisations including the Football Association of Ireland, Special Olympics Ireland, and Football South in New Zealand. He has gained fantastic experience in developing programmes, supporting teams and communities, and creating environments where people can grow and perform at their best.
We are absolutely delighted to welcome back another former player to the backroom team at Wexford FC, working alongside Tom Elmes to bring our academy work to new heights.
Stephen Last made his commentary debut last night on LOITV alongside Ronan McCarthy for Wexford FC’s WPD win over Treaty United, and we are delighted to see him back at the club!
This role is funded through the League of Ireland Academy Investment Programme supported by the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport and Sport Ireland. Wexford FC would like to thank Minister Patrick O’Donovan and Minister Charlie McConalogue for their support in helping the Club in this invaluable appointment.
