Wexford Youths Women return to Women’s Premier Division action tomorrow night, Athlone Town the visitors to Ferrycarrig Park in a game under the lights and the cameras of TG4 who will be broadcasting the game live to the nation.
The game will kick off at the later than usual time of 7:35pm.
Wexford will be looking to get back to winning ways having suffered a first defeat of the season away to Shamrock Rovers two weeks ago. Athlone are in the same boat having lost to Galway in the last round of fixtures.
The sides met four times in 2022 with two wins apiece, Athlone having come out on top in the last two encounters between the teams.
In a shortened season of just twenty league games, both teams will be keen to bag a very important three points to stay in touch with current leaders Peamount United. Wexford currently sit sixth and Athlone seventh in the table (separated by two points) although they have played fewer games than the teams above them.
In team news Méabh Russell (who scored Youths only goal in Tallaght) is available for selection having returned from international duty with the Ireland U19s yesterday.
Ellen Molloy and Della Doherty miss out with long term injuries.
