Wexford FC travel to take on runaway favourites for the First Division title this Friday night.
Managed by the impressive team of John Caulfield and Ollie Horgan – Galway United looked simply unbeatable as they stormed to a record-breaking 11 wins from 11. They took a ten point lead over their nearest rivals at this early stage, and in truth the title still seems likely to be going West this year.
However, the first chink in Galway’s armour has been exposed – Galway fell to a shock 1-0 defeat to Longford Town, oddly enough on the exact same day as Wexford took their recent win over Waterford. All in all, it proves that anything can happen in football and Friday is anything but a foregone conclusion!
Dobbs has returned from his injury concern, as have Conor Levingston and Brandon McCann in recent weeks. Evan Farrell is now very close to his return, and could join the match day squad on Friday night.
Aaron Robinson and Thomas Considine remain long term injury absentees.
