Wexford will hope to go back to winning ways this Friday night away to Bray Wanderers.
The Slaneysiders were excellent in the first half last week against Finn Harps, but left regretting that they hadn’t made more of their advantage after a late late winner by the visitors from Donegal. One wonders what the story would have been if Mikie Rowe’s strike had crept just inside instead of hitting the post.
However, the response from the management and squad after the game was unanimous in the post-game interviews – they were not interested in a hard luck story or an almost performance. They want to win leagues titles and win games, and hard luck counts for nothing on that front. A rallying cry for Wexford fans to be proud of.
For Bray, they have made some very positive signings during the break with the arrival of Jimmy Corcoran, Cristian Magerusan and Kilian Cantwell. Currently, Bray find themselves 1 point ahead of Wexford with 1 extra game played, so another important game in the shake-up ahead as we approach the mid-season.
