Wexford FC U19 Girls continued their perfect start to the season with a 3-1 win on the road, Stephen Quinns team too strong for a spirited Treaty United side in Limerick.
Lily-Anne O’Meara, Eimear Roche and Leah Mannion all made their U19 debuts after getting called up from the U17s.
Leah McGrath (pictured above) opened the scoring with a fine header in the 19th minute, Aoibheann Rankin providing the assist with a pin point cross. Ciara Fitzpatrick (below) doubled the Wexford lead in the 60th minute, flicking a right foot effort past the keeper from Ella Nolan’s free-kick.
A third goal came in the 73rd when a Katie Law free-kick beat the home keeper at her near post. The hosts did get a goal back with the last kick of the game.
Wexford top their group with six wins from six and will take on CK United at Ferrycarrig Park this coming Sunday.
Our U17s had no game this weekend but will return to League action on Saturday with Bray Wanderers the visitors.
