It has been a busy period for our academy coaches and players during the midterm break!
Liam Billings (U17 goalkeeper) has spent a week in training with Bradford City in the UK and has since returned to Academy training as he continues his development path!
Last week both Ryan Butler and Filip Wasilewski (both U17 academy players) spent a week at our partner club Reading FC. They have been training and playing in their full time set up and that was followed by a visit for Sunday’s game from Reading Academy Head Coach Noel Hunt to Ferrycarrig!
This week Irish U16 international player Oisin McDonagh has been invited to Torino in Italy to train with their Academy for the week. Oisin is also training with our first team at the moment and playing up at U20s level.
At the same time, Kaylem Harnett Irish U17 international has started in the last 2 Men’s First Division matches showing the great talent and potential he has. This is great testament to the growth of the Wexford FC Academy and the great work being put in at the club.
All academy teams are making great progress and a lot of hard work still to be done. Well done to all involved.
John Godkin, Head of Football
