A super second half comeback from our U17 girls in yesterdays 2-2 draw with DLR Waves in Dublin, Lily-Anne O’Meara and Leah McGrath the goal scorers. The draw means Wexford remain in third spot in League Tier One with two games to play.
The hosts scored two quick fire goals in the 41st and 48th minutes to go two up at Marley Park but Lily-Anne put the Youths back in the game with an immediate response in the 49th. The Dublin side looked like they were going to hang on for the win until Leah fired in the equaliser with five minutes to go.
The girls take on Athlone at Ferrycarrig next week and wrap up the season on 4th November away to Galway.
Our U19 girls had no game due to the international break.
A date for their EA Sports Cup Final against Shelbourne is still to be confirmed.
