Wexford can secure their first ever playoff finish with a win over Kerry FC this Friday night
Wexford can hardly go in more confident – Wexford have gone 7 games unbeaten in league action, stretching all the way back to 7th August. Victories over all of their nearest rivals has powered them to fourth in the table – which would result in a two legged play off tie with former manager Shane Keegan’s Cobh Ramblers side.
But first – there is the matter of Friday night to consider. While Wexford took a handy 6-0 win last time out at Mounthawk Park, it was a far more competitive affair last time the two sides met at Ferrycarrig Park. Wexford had to bounce back from two goal deficit to pull out a 3-2 victory – Danny Furlong’s composed penalty taking secured the three points.
It has been a tough start to LOI life for Kerry – they have their first win under their belt by defeating Athlone Town back in May, but that has been their only league win so far. They secured draws with Finn Harps, Cobh Ramblers and Longford Town since then, but otherwise it has been a run of defeats to forget for the newcomers.
There are no new injuries to report ahead of Friday night.
