Ceola Bergin and Méabh Russell have been named in the Ireland U19 squad that will take on Wales and Northern Ireland in three international friendly games next week.
Ireland play Wales twice: on Wednesday 20th and Friday 22nd, September at Collier Stadium in Wrexham before travelling to Belfast to play Northern Ireland at Blanchflower Stadium on Sunday, 24th September.
The three games are part of preparation for next months 2023/24 U19 UEFA European Championship Qualifiers where the girls in green will face Belgium, Netherlands and the Faroe Islands.
Ceola has scored 21 goals for our U19 team this season.
The sixteen year old striker has also made nine senior appearances for Wexford Youths Women in 2023. This is Ceola’s first call up to the Ireland U19 team having represented her country at U17 level last year.
Méabh has been a regular for our Women’s team since signing for the club in 2022, making 44 appearances so far. The talented young defender has represented her country at U17 and U19 level.
