Wexford Youths Women travel to Tolka Park tomorrow looking for a second win over league champions Shelbourne this season, Stephen Quinn’s team coming out on top in a close game at Ferrycarrig in April.
Rianna Jarrett scored the only goal of the game, the Youths putting in a strong defensive performance on the day.
Another battle awaits in Dublin tomorrow, Noel King’s side coming into the game on a good run of form. The Reds will be looking to avenge the loss in the south east and grab a vital three points to keep the pressure on leaders Peamount United. Shelbourne are six points behind the Peas having played the same amount of games. Shelbourne have a record of four wins and one defeat in their last five games with only one goal conceded.
The Youths title hopes are realistically already gone, fourteen points adrift with just nine games left to play in this shortened season. Wexford head to the capital with just two wins in the last five games but there are signs of striker Emily Corbet returning to her best form having scored three goals in the last three outings. Kylie Murphy and Ciara Rossiter have also fully recovered from recent knocks.
Shelbourne have been beaten twice at Tolka this season, Galway and Peamount coming away from Drumcondra with maximum points so the Youths will be hoping to mirror those results.
In injury news, Edel Kennedy, Shauna Carroll, Ellen Molloy and Della Doherty will miss out through injury while Orlaith Deasy is unavailable for selection.
Kick off at Tolka Park is at 2pm tomorrow.
The game will be streamed Live on LOITV.
