A massive game for Wexford Youths this weekend, Stephen Quinn’s team in need of three points to kickstart the season. The 2023 campaign had gotten off to a good start with victories over Galway and Sligo but three defeats on the bounce to Shamrock Rovers, Athlone and Peamount has seen the side slip to 8th in the table, 12 points off the lead (with two games in hand).
The task to get back to winning ways could not be harder though, champions Shelbourne coming to town on the back of excellent wins over Peamount and Treaty United. Noel King’s side have an in form Megan Smyth Lynch to call on as well, the winger named Player of the Month for March with five goals to her name.
The Youths will be without Ciara Rossiter who is suspended for one game after picking up a red card at PRL Park last week. Edel Kennedy is also a doubt for the game having suffered a knee injury in training during the week. Della Doherty and Ellen Molloy remain unavailable with long term injuries.
The game at Ferrycarrig Park will kick off at 6pm on Saturday, 29th April.
Tickets available at the gate.
The match will be streamed Live on LOITV with match commentary from Scott Gaynor and Mark Hayes.
