We are delighted to announce that Wexford FC’s all-time top goal-scorer Danny Furlong has returned to the club for the upcoming 2023 campaign, bringing an extra-layer of quality and experience to our first-team squad. Furlong returns after a recent spell with North End United, and is remembered fondly in the hearts of Wexford FC fans, scoring 107 goals in 233 league matches throughout his various stints at the club.
He has plied his trade across the League of Ireland, having spells with Cork City, Galway United, and Waterford, but the 33 year-old’s best form was seen playing for Wexford. Furlong played a vital part in the club’s 2015 promotion campaign, breaking League of Ireland First Division records by scoring 30 goals in the span of the 28 game league campaign, a record which remains unbroken to this day.
We are over the moon to welcome Danny Furlong back to the club for the upcoming campaign, and are excited to see the pacy striker playing, once more, under the lights at Ferrycarrig.
Welcome Back Danny!
