Wexford FC are delighted to announce that forward Mikie Rowe has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
Rowe is coming off an extraordinary season, scoring 23 goals in all competitions, earning a place in the PFAI First Division Team of the Year, and receiving a nomination for PFAI First Division Player of the Year. A hugely influential figure both on and off the pitch, Mikie has become one of Wexford’s most important leaders and a genuine hometown star.
A model professional and a key part of the club’s identity, Rowe’s commitment represents a major statement of intent as Wexford FC look to build on a strong 2025 campaign.
Speaking after signing, Mikie said:
“Firstly, I’m delighted to commit my future to Wexford Football Club – it’s a special feeling playing for your hometown club and a privilege I don’t take lightly.
From numerous discussions with Tony and the club, it quickly became evident that our ambitions aligned and that Wexford FC can become a powerful and sustainable force in Irish football.
I’m incredibly excited with the opportunity of working with Stephen Elliott once again – his energy, work ethic and desire to improve himself and others is off the charts and it’s an honour to work so closely with a manager of his calibre.
I’m looking forward to doing everything possible on the pitch towards achieving these goals while also looking to assist in areas that cater for the development of our younger players and the overall development of the club.”
Speaking to club media team during the week, manager Stephen Elliott was excited for the prospects ahead:
“Mikie epitomises the type of player we want to help this football club grow. His application to improve is second to none, and he is arguably one of the best finishers I’ve seen in my time. There’s no doubt he will come back even hungrier than before, and I can’t wait to work with him again next season.”
