📢CONFIRMED: Our https://t.co/TNeL6TWoAR FAI Cup second round clash with @DundalkFC will take place on Friday 26th… https://t.co/H0fxCz9pdC

The Youths return to Ferrycarrig Park this weekend to face Bohemians WFC.

A late winner from Scarlett Herron of Athlone against Sligo Rovers, combined with Wexford’s stalemate against DLR Waves, allowed Athlone to overtake the Youths and climb to second place. Athlone now sit 1 point above the Youths.

Wexford face an on-form Bohs side, who have picked up 11 points in their last 6 games, and are gradually climbing up the table. Both teams are unbeaten in their last 3 games, and will look to extend this record.

The Wexford girls will look to reclaim their position this weekend with a win, particularly as Athlone travel to league leaders Shelbourne, who have the best home record this season.

Last time out in mid-March, Wexford defeated Bohs 3-0 in the reverse fixture, with goals from Ellen Molloy, Ciara Rossiter, and Kylie Murphy.

The Youths are on a bit of a dry patch in front of goal lately, with 7 goals scored in their last 6 games. They haven’t scored 2+ goals in their last 4 games. They will look to get back to their usual scoring ways against Bohs, whom they have put 18 past in the previous 4 meetings – 7 on two separate occasions.

Both teams have kept 2 clean sheets in the last 3 games. In the last 8 games, they also have displayed similar goalscoring and defensive stats. Wexford have scored 11 and conceded 8, while BOhs have scored 13 and conceded 7 in the last 8 games.

The Wexford defenders will need to keep an eye on Rebecca Cooke who has scored 3 goals in Boh’s last 3 games.

Kick-off at Ferrycarrig is 18:00 Saturday, 23rd July 2022.
