#STRONGERTOGETHER

📢CONFIRMED: Our https://t.co/TNeL6TWoAR FAI Cup second round clash with @DundalkFC will take place on Friday 26th… https://t.co/H0fxCz9pdC

Wexford return to Ferrycarrig Park this weekend with a visit to league leaders Cork. The two most on-form sides in the league come head-to-head.

Both Cork and Wexford have accumulated 14 points in the last 6 games, the highest of any other team. Both teams have the same record with 4 wins, 2 draws, and 0 losses.

Wexford extended their unbeaten run to 7 games with a convincing second half display against Waterford. Considine, Dobbs, and Barry got the goals in the 3-1 win.

7 games ago in mid-May, Wexford began their unbeaten run against Cork. The game finished 1-1 with Conor Davis scoring an equaliser early in the second half.

Wexford will need to start sharply as Cork have scored first in 6 of their last 7 games. The most recent match where Cork didn’t score the opening goal was against Athlone at the start of May – Thomas Oluwa got the goal in the first minute.

Wexford will also need to be careful with discipline. In Cork’s last 8 league games, the opposing team has seen a red card in half of those games – 5 players were sent off in total.

Wexford will also look to avenge a sixteen-game winless streak against Cork, with their last win dating back to 30th October 2010. 2-1 was the final score in that game.

An exciting match-up awaits as the best defence in the league faces a Wexford side who are amongst the top goal scorers in the league as of late. Wexford rank 2nd with 14 goals scored in the last 6 games, 2 goals behind Waterford.

Cork have still only lost 1 game this season. With Treaty not playing this weekend, Wexford will look to build on their impressive away form this season and enter the playoff spots again.
