Ahead of the upcoming season, Wexford FC are delighted to confirm that Jason Goodison has been selected as the new U14 team manager.  Jason will be supported by senior player and academy graduate Evan Farrell in the coaching team, along with established coaches Jordan Donovan and Rory Dowling (Strength and Conditioning).

This is a critically important role, and Wexford will benefit from Jason's immense experience of coaching across all age groups over the past number of years.

Jason has been responsible for Wexford's Talent Development Programme (TDP) for the last number of years.  In the National League Jason started out as a coach with our U15s in 2017 (the inaugural U15 League of Ireland season) under then Manager Billy Molloy. In 2018 he moved with Billy up to the U17s and spent two seasons there as assistant coach before taking up the U15 Manager's role for 2020, and again moving up to the U17 side for 2021 and 2022.  He is of course currently coaching also with our Senior Team under Ian Ryan, where he plays a valuable role in coaching, fitness and opposition analysis.

Living just minutes away from Ferrycarrig Park, Jason has followed the club since it's inception in 2007 as Wexford Youths. He graduated from Waterford IT with a BSc in Sports Coaching and Performance (during which he spent time at Norwich City with an internship placement) before joining Wexford FC.

Speaking to the media team, Jason recognised the importance of the job ahead:

“The U14 squad is crucial to Wexford FC as it is the youngest age group in the club. It is the foundation that the rest of the club sits on.  It is my hope, and our job as an academy, to progress as many of these players as possible through the football club and towards the 1st team”

Confirmation of the new U17 manager will be coming very soon.

It will also be exciting to see senior player and long-time academy star Evan Farrell step into a coaching role, as he takes up the role of assistant manager to Jason.

Evan Farrell is a very familiar face in the Wexford FC academy sides, beginning his association with the Wexford Youths Talent Development Programme (TDP) when he was still playing U11 football.  He has flourished at every level in the National Underage League, before breaking onto the senior side as a regular in 2021.  His knowledge and experience will be invaluable to the new U14 entrants.

Completing the coaching set up are Rory Dowling and Jordan Donovan.

We are currently putting together our U14 squad for 2022, and have availability for some places.  For trial enquires please contact toconnor@wexfordfc.ie
