Wexford visit Turner’s Cross this Friday to face Cork City. An important game for both teams as Wexford look to keep up their play-off hopes, while Cork seek to maintain their position at the top.

Wexford will look to bounce back from a disappointing 4-0 loss to Galway last week. It will be a tough challenge however as they come up against the league’s best defence – who have only conceded 7 goals all season. 

Cork brought their win-streak to five games with their last-minute strike sealing a 2-1 victory against Athlone last week.

The Wexford defence will need to keep an eye on Cian Murphy, who has scored in 3 of the last 4 meetings in this fixture. His early goal was the only difference separating the two sides last time out at the start of April. Wexford will also look to avenge a fourteen-game winless streak against Cork, with their last win dating back to October 2010. Wexford have a better goalscoring record away from home so far this season with 10 goals from 7 away games, ranking 4th overall.

They also have a better defensive record away from home having only conceded 9 goals in 7 games.
