Highlights from the #IRLU15 clash with Mexico yesterday! Kaylem Harnett doing Wexford proud 🙌 https://t.co/fOAi0xYVOX

An important game for Wexford FC against second place Galway United lies ahead this Friday as the last-gasp push for a sensational season-ending come back from the bottom continues.

With 2 league games to go, and 4 points separating Wexford from Cobh Ramblers in 9th, as well as Cabinteely in 8th, a competitive finale is on the cards for all teams.

7 games ago, Wexford were isolated at the bottom with just 5 points from 18 games – a total of 13 points away from Cobh Ramblers. But after earning 13 points themselves from the next 6 games, Ian Ryan’s aim of introducing a winning habit and an attractive style of play was well and truly displayed on the pitch.

A 4-0 loss put a stop in the tracks to a potential 4 game winning streak against Cork City last week however. A couple of errors in keeping possession and a red card ultimately rewarded Cork City, who capitalised their chances.

Galway come into this game off the back of another home win against Cobh Ramblers, having only lost 1 game in their last 6. Galway’s home record this season has been very impressive, with only 2 losses out of 12.

Wexford will look to avenge our two previous losses to Galway this season. A 96th minute winner from David Hurley took the points home for Galway in this exact fixture back in May, as well as a 3-1 home loss in July.

Kyle Robinson will hope to reach double figures for his goal scoring tally in his first appearance against Galway this season, having missed the previous two encounters due to injury.

The Wexford players will no doubt have a close eye on results elsewhere; with Cobh taking on champions Shelbourne at home, while Cabinteely travel to Bray.
