An important league match awaits us this Friday night, as Wexford set their sights on moving up the table.

Wexford did themselves a world of good with their win over Cobh Ramblers two weeks ago, moving them to within 7 points of 9th place Cobh.  With five league games remaining it is a tall order, but a win this Friday would be another big step towards the goal.

Although Wexford did lose out against top Premier side St. Patrick's Athletic last week, they can nonetheless be proud of putting up such a good fight with a full time professional side.  Particularly impressive considering key players Kyle Robinson, Jack Doherty, and Cian Kelly were all unavailable on the night.

Wexford remain in fine form too, with three wins and a draw in their last 6 games in all competitions.  Athlone go into this fixture in a similar vein, with two wins and a draw in their last six.  Athlone's results are quite mixed, falling to a 6-0 defeat away to UCD in mid-August before bouncing back with a 1-0 win over promotion candidates Galway United.

Tickets for this fixture are on sale for €15 from https://www.athlonetownafc.ie/products.  Your ticket(s) will be available at the gate and you should bring a copy of your receipt along with picture ID in the name that the booking was made in.

If not, make sure to tune in to the livestream on LOITV.  A matchpass is available for €5.00, or the match is included in the First Division match pass.

Kickoff at Athlone Town Stadium is set for 7.45pm
