The Youths Women finally kick off their 2021 cup campaign at home to Athlone in the FAI Cup quarter final on Saturday evening.

Athlone have given Wexford Youths several big scares over the past two seasons.  In April this year, it looked all the world like Athlone were going to hold Wexford to a scoreless draw here at Ferrycarrig Park, until talismanic midfielder Muireann Devaney received a second yellow and Kylie Murphy slotted home a penalty in the 80th minute.

It was the same story last year in Athlone’s first ever WNL tie, at Lissywoolen in 2020 it took until the 72nd minute for Aisling Frawley to break the deadlock.

The Youths Women are thirsty for success in this year's cup campaign, and will be extremely cautious of any slip-up in this fixture with their potential bogey team.  The Youths are in peerless form this season, with an unbeaten run now stretching to 16 league games.

We are delighted to confirm that there will be plenty of tickets on sale at the gate, and all are welcome to attend at Ferrycarrig Park.

Kick off at Ferrycarrig Park is set for 6.30pm
