Ready for the new season! Action shots from our U15s pre-season friendly game at @AthloneTownAFC 📸 Paula Kelly https://t.co/VFHqu1kj8a
As fans finally make the long-awaited return to Ferrycarrig Park this week, we wish to confirm a few changes in the squad after mid-season break.
First and foremost, we send a huge thanks to defender Luke Turner and Aberdeen FC after the completion of his loan spell.  Luke returns to his parent club after making 10 starts in 10 games, and scored one memorable goal in our opening match against Cabinteely.  Turner was a superb character around the club, and we wish him the very best in future.  We are sure that a successful career lies ahead.
As fans will have seen already, Lorcan Fitzgerald has been signed as a player/coach to boost our defense.  He has made a fantastic impression already around the club, and provides a fantastic example to an otherwise quite young squad.
We also wish to confirm that Alex O'Hanlon has now completed his spell, and returns to Shelbourne. O'Hanlon made 7 starts for Wexford FC, and we wish him the very best for the rest of the year.
We now also wish to take this opportunity to confirm that goalkeeper Tom Murphy and defender Dan Tobin departed the club earlier this year.  We are grateful to both of them for their work around the club in the past year.
