Wexford Youths Women confirms that Tom Elmes is departing as manager.

All at the club are hugely grateful for the professionalism, dedication and passion he has brought to his work at the club.  Elmes will always be fondly remembered as a popular and successful figure, who brought stability and prosperity in his three and a half years at the Youths Women.

Elmes was appointed at the beginning of the 2018 season, and was an instant hit with the players as well as a success in management.

Elmes transitioned from playing to management seamlessly, completing the FAI’s sports management and coaching degree in IT Carlow, before being taken on as a full-time employee by the Football Association where he then ran the course.  The Youths won the League and Cup double in his first year in charge, along with a WNL Shield win in the same year.

Along with two successful and well-run campaigns in the UEFA Women's Champions League in Belfast and Lithuania, Elmes managed the side to a second Women's FAI Cup in the 2019 season.  We are all hugely grateful for the success he has led, the great experiences in football, and the developments he has brought to women's football in Wexford.

Further announcements will be made in due course in relation to the management position.

For now we simply wish the very best to Tom in the future, and we all hope to see him at Ferrycarrig Park frequently.
