Match Preview: Treaty Utd vs. Wexford FC
Wexford FC have the honour this week of being the first ever home opponent for brand new club Treaty United.
Wexford did not have the dream start last week, falling to a narrow 2-1 defeat at home to Cabinteely. Luke Turner picked up Wexford's first goal of the season, heading home just before the hour mark. Wexford were of course looking for more from the opening fixture, and will be out for blood at Market's Field on Friday. Kyle Robinson and Success Edogun will both be particularly keen to open their accounts in 2021
That will not be easy, as Treaty made an impressive start to life in the First Division last weekend, picking up a scoreless draw away to hotly tipped Bray Wanderers. Defensively Treaty were a match for the quality of Bray, and Tommy Barrett can take great credit for the squad he has assembled in a short space of time.
It is a great pity that the Limerick public will not be able to enjoy the match live at Market's Field, however fans can all enjoy the match live on LOITV. The new streaming service made a great start to life last week, with lots of great feedback from Wexford's livestreams. See www.loitv.ie for more details.
In team news, Dan Tobin and Charlie Smith are returning from the injuries that effected their pre-season, and may be available for starts on Friday night. New signings Anto Dolan and Cameron Power remain absent for the longer term. Wexford are again suspension-free for this match week.
Kickoff at Market's Field is set for 7.45pm
