We are delighted to confirm that Wexford FC will be represented in the first ever eSports League of Ireland by Rathnure man Larry Martin!

Larry Martin has been heavily involved in FIFA eSports since joining the SAF eSports in 2018.  Now more involved as a coach, Larry will be making a competitive comeback for his local side:

“The first FIFA I can remember playing is FIFA 99, but I’ve been played competitively since FIFA 18, and in those years I’ve always been in the top 5 or so on the Irish FGS leaderboards.  I had actually stopped playing competitive FIFA this year to concentrate on coaching/managing with the eSports team SAF but the opportunity to represent my local club in the first ever eLOI was too good to let pass by!”

“At this stage I am quite heavily involved in competitive eSports, with being involved with SAFs coaching/management team its actually a daily routine, you could say it’s a hobby that’s actually got out of hand”

In past tournaments Larry has taken joint 4th place in Fifa.GG for Ireland and been an EEG Tournament Finalist

The club is excited to have such a high calibre of player representing us, and also to take part in the first ever eLeague of Ireland.  Competitive eSports has become a global phenomenon with millions of people participating and consuming eSports.

The eLeague of Ireland Gaming Series will begin in the coming weeks.
