Wexford FC finally kick off their 2021 season with a home tie with Cabinteely this Friday night with a 7.45pm kickoff

It's likely the dream fixture for Wexford fans to kick off the 2021 season, with Cabinteely becoming something of a rival for the Slaneysiders.  Leaving the off-the-pitch matters out entirely, this is becoming a game with baggage for those involved. In the past two seasons Wexford have picked up Conor Crowley, Karl Manahan, Jack Connolly, and Paul Fox from Cabinteely, all of whom are likely to be key men in our squad this year.  There’s nothing a player would like more than to get one over on their former side.

In team news, Wexford FC go into the 2021 season free of suspensions, however there are a small number of injury concerns ahead of the first game.  Cameron Power and Anto Dolan will be long time absentees through injury, and Dan Tobin will be sidelined for 1-2 more weeks as he returns from a foot injury.  Jack Doherty, Luke Turner and Charlie Smith have had their pre-season preparations impacted through injury, but may be available come Friday night.
