ūüďł Start of another week of pre-season training. 25 more days to go! https://t.co/V3QRDX3DO8

Tom Elmes' first new signing revealed for the 2021 season is Kim Flood, a talented midfielder with huge experience of the highest level.  Flood joins from St. Patrick's CYFC, where she played a talismanic role for the Ringsend-based side.

Flood has experienced the Women's National League before, playing alongside former Youth Emma Hansberry with Castlebar Celtic.  Flood was part of the Castlebar side that contested the FAI Women's Cup final at the Aviva Stadium in 2013.

From there, Flood moved to Dublin Ladies' GAA, where again she reached the highest level of the game.  Flood reached another major final in her time there, playing in the All Ireland Football Final in 2015 at Croke Park.

Showing her versatility, Flood moved into the Irish Rugby set up in both 7s and 15s codes.  Flood built quite a reputation in the rugby scene, until injury sadly forced her to leave the set-up and take a number of months for rehabilitation.  She opted to return to football thereafter, playing with her local St. Patrick's CYFC.

For 2021 a new chapter begins for Kim, as she returns to the national level with Wexford Youths Women.  Speaking to the club media team yesterday, Flood was excited for the challenge ahead:

"I'm finding pre-season tough but very enjoyable.  It's great to be back in a professional setup and I'm very grateful for the opportunity to train and play"

Youths fans can look forward to more exciting signings in the coming days!
