Jimmy Corcoran joins Wexford FC
Ireland U19 goalkeeper Jimmy Corcoran has signed for Wexford FC, the Meath native arrives at Ferrycarrig Park having previously been on the books at Preston North End and serving as back up keeper for Dundalk FC late last year. Starting his football career with his local club in Kells, Jimmy played at Cherry Orchard for two years and then headed over to England on a two year scholarship with Preston North End in 2018. He moved to Oriel Park last August and served as back up keeper for the Lilywhites for the remainder of the season.
The young keeper has looked sharp in pre-season training and is looking forward to the League of Ireland season kicking off next month:
"I've settled in well, the lads are dead on and I can see the group already starting to mould together. Hopefully I can play as many games as possible and gain as much experience as I can, Wexford is a great club and it's only getting better so hopefully we can push on this year and do well in the league."
Wexford FC will play Drogheda United tomorrow afternoon in the first of three pre-season friendly games. Brian O'Sullivan's team will also face St Patrick's Athletic on Friday, 26th February and Waterford FC on Saturday, 13th March.
