Wexford FC are delighted to announce the signing of Paul Fox, the exciting 21 year old winger has completed the move to Ferrycarrig Park after a five year spell with Cabinteely FC. Paul made his League of Ireland first team debut for the Dublin side aged just 16 and went on to make over 50 First Division appearances at Stradbrook.

Paul spoke to the club's media team earlier this week about his move to the South East:

"I had been at Cabo since I was 16 and felt it was a good time to try something new, had a great time there but wanted to freshen things up and I was impressed with the team Brian (O'Sullivan) is putting together so I felt it would be a good move for me personally. When I was with Cabo the games against Wexford were always tough games, I was very impressed with their win in Stradbrook last season and thought they played great football that night."

Paul adds plenty of League of Ireland experience to a young Wexford squad that will be looking for big improvements on last season:

"I think the First Division this year is probably going to be the strongest it has been, across all teams. A lot of teams have been strengthening in the off season so I expect it to be a tough season but hopefully we can kick on and push towards making the play offs. I've really enjoyed the training sessions so far, a good standard and intensity which is needed in pre-season. Personally I just want to settle into the squad work hard and make my way into the first 11, then hopefully have an impact on the team and contribute with goals and assists."

Manager Brian O'Sullivan was delighted to secure the signing of the talented attacking midfielder:

"Paul comes in with plenty of experience and loads of quality, a really hard working lad and a great character to have in the dressing room. He has fitted in with the group perfectly and all the lads are impressed with the quality of him. I think he gives you that out ball that can take the pressure off the team when you are in trouble. He is good at going by players and has that quality in the final third that can win you games. When you look at us now we have some really good technical players like Larkin, Doherty, Connolly and now Paul so I think if we get it right defensively we can be really competitive this season."

Wexford FC will be announcing more new signings in the coming days ahead of our first pre-season friendly game against Drogheda United on Sunday afternoon.
