Tom Murphy voted Wexford FC Player of the Year
Tom Murphy has been awarded Wexford FC Senior Player of the Year after a brilliant debut season at Ferrycarrig Park, the goalkeeper receiving the most votes from the public. The Wicklow man joined Wexford FC in January and appeared in all 18 League games this season. The twenty year old was also heavily involved with our underage teams in 2020, Tom was goalkeeping coach for our U13 and U15 teams.
Tom is also the first goalkeeper to win the award, Conor Sutton the winner in 2018 and Paddy Cahill in 2019. The Aughrim native was delighted to receive the award after a long season:
"I've never actually been ever nominated or won Player of the Year since I started playing football so this was great, especially because this was my first year in senior football. This was also my first year at the club and there wasn't a day that I went in and didn't enjoy it. The club has been great and personally for me I enjoyed every minute of it."
