Club captain Dan Tobin back for 2021 season
Another key squad member has returned to the side for another season, in the form of Club Captain Dan Tobin.
Dan Tobin played every minute of Wexford's 2020 league campaign, and scored one thunderous goal in Wexford's 5-1 win against Cabinteely.
Dan was already a highly accomplished player before signing for Wexford at the start of last year, already having made a remarkable 103 senior appearances for UCD, including 30 in the Premier Division.
Speaking to club media team after his signing, he was keen to build on the 2020 experience:
"Obviously last year didn't go as we would have liked. Given everything that was going on in terms of the pandemic I think we should be glad we got the season finished. Playing every minute in the league and captaining the team were two positives I took from the season on a personal level"
"Personally I'll be looking to come in to pre-season as fit and ready to go as possible. Hopefully as a team we can build and improve on last year with a mix of returning players and some new ones"#
Dan Tobin was also excited to be back playing in front of the Wexford public again, and believe they really gave the side a boost:
"Last season we only got to play two games with a full crowd and we were undefeated in those games. It definitely makes a massive difference so the sooner the fans are allowed back, the better"
