Club Statement on Arbitration Result

All at Wexford FC are very pleased that following full consideration of all the information available, and a detailed and comprehensive three and a half hour hearing, the independent Arbitrator saw fit to vindicate our position on the recent player registration issue. All along we felt the club was wronged, being heavily punished for what was an error on the part of the English FA. The club took a lot of badly informed flack, even locally. For over two months, several parties investigated this, and found that the club acted properly and in good faith at all times, with the exception of the Appeals Board who supported a Cabinteely FC appeal, which has now been overturned.

While this makes no difference to our league position, it was very important to fight for what we felt was right, but also to ensure that the teams that won play-off places were those that deserved to do so most, by points won on the field of play.
