Wexford FC Also coming up soon: Wexford FC presents An Evening with Kevin Doyle, Billy Walsh and Stephen Hunt in conversation… https://t.co/hGuw8ldLeb

The wait goes on for our first win over Cobh Ramblers, but another promising performance although just like the Shelbourne game there was nothing to show for the 90 odd minutes of endeavour. There were three changes to the side that lost by the same scoreline to Shels, Sean Kelly, Adham Masood and a debut for U17 keeper Aaron Hall replacing Aaron Dobbs who missed out through injury while Paddy Cahill and Colum Feeney were on the bench.

Wexford started brilliantly, Conor Sutton, Danny Doyle, Dean George and Dean Walsh all with good chances in the opening 15 minutes. Cobh created little in that period but struck twice in two minutes on the half hour for a flattering 2-0 lead at half time, David Hurley with a close range finish with poor marking from Wexford and then Chris Hull with a fine strike into the corner from distance. It took a while to recover from that setback but slowly as the second half wore on Wexford settled back into a rhythm, Mark Slater with a super long range effort well saved before a stunning finish and debut senior goal for Adham Masood on the hour mark, volleying into the net after Cobh failed to clear a cross and it was game on again.

The visitors dug deep from there on and defended well to prevent what would have been a deserved equalizer for the home team. There were few chances for either side in the final quarter as the mist fell on Ferrycarrig and the game ended with the away side heading home with all three points.
