Match Highlights : Wexford FC 0-1 Cabinteely FC
Wexford FC were beaten on Friday night as Cabinteely avenged their LSC defeat on Tuesday by taking all three points in this League encounter at Ferrycarrig Park. With leading scorer Aaron Dobbs injured, Shane Barnes led from the front and could have taken the lead in the 12th minute with a mazy run into the box but just shooting narrowly wide. Wexford were well on top at this stage but luck wasn't on their side at all on the night, in particular when Dean George saw his stunning effort crash off the crossbar in the 24th minute. Mark Slater was next to come close with a super volley which just went too high. On the half hour it all changed when Sean Hurley was judged to have fouled Kieran Marty Waters in the box and Conor Keeley dispatched the penalty confidently to give the visitors the undeserved lead. In the second half, Cabinteely pushed on and Kealan Gaffney was called on a number of times to keep Wexford in the game before Ross Kenny was sent off after picking up a second yellow with minutes to go. Still, there were great chances for Dean Kelly with a one on one and Ryan Nolan with a volley at the death to snatch a point but it wasn't to be.
