Wexford FC suffered a horror of sorts on Friday the 13th as Galway United came from a goal down at half time to win 4-1 at Eamonn Deacy Park. In truth it was a horrible seven minutes in the second half that decided the game as in the 63rd minute Danny Furlong cancelled out Aaron Dobbs lead goal which had stood since the 29th minute. Three minutes after the ex Wexford Youths man levelled, Ross Kenny was sent off with a penalty conceded. Alan Murphy despatched it to make it 2-1 to Galway and 4 minutes later all of a sudden it was 3-1 as Carlton Ubaezuonu struck. Eoin McCormack added a fourth 2 minutes from the end to give the scoreline a rather unfair look about it.

It had all started so brightly as Wexford defended well from the beginning and had chances before Aaron Dobbs got his second goal in a week to make it 1-0 on the half hour as he headed in from Dean Kellys cross. Even in the second half there were opportunities to double the lead as Dobbs and Mark Slater came close. But the equaliser followed swiftly by the red card and the lead for Galway made it all uphill for Wexford FC from there.

Wexford FC: Kealan Gaffney, AJ Lehane, Sean Kelly, Ross Kenny (c), Sean Hurley, Chris Kenny, Mikey Byrne, Dean Kelly, Shane Barnes (Dean George), Mark Slater (Liam McCartan) and Aaron Dobbs (Danny Doyle). Subs not used: Ryan Nolan, Owen Wall, Aaron O'Connor and Colum Feeney.
