On Saturday at Ferrycarrig, Wexford Youths Women retained the top spot in the WNL as we enter into the first break of the season with this comprehensive victory over Kilkenny United. The visitors have found it tough going this year and it was made all the more difficult as they only had ten players available to them which meant it was more a case of how many Wexford would score rather than if they could.

There were 2 changes from the side that beat Shelbourne so convincingly the previous week in Dublin with Amy Walsh and Katrina Parrock replacing Becky Cassin and Edel Kennedy in the starting line up. It was good to see Emma Hansberry make an appearance on the bench after recovering from her long injury.

In the end, Rianna Jarrett brought her seasons tally up to six with the perfect hat-trick of one with the left foot, one with the right foot and a header. Orla Casey scored her first League goal this year while Katrina Parrock scored her second of the week to help Youths grab the three points in comfort. Credit must go to the ten Kilkenny players who battled bravely for the 90 minutes but the result was never in doubt as Youths continued their unbeaten start to the season.

Wexford Youths Women; Sophie Lenehan, Nicola Sinnott (Ciara Delaney 45), Lauren Dwyer (Cliodhna Ni She 45), Orlaith Conlon, Amy Walsh, Kylie Murphy c (Rachel Hutchinson 54), Aisling Frawley, Orla Casey, Katrina Parrock, Rianna Jarrett and Claire O'Riordan.  Subs Not Used: Emma Hansberry, Becky Cassin and Edel Kennedy.
