Due to the horrific weather over the weekend and the men's match at Ferrycarrig on Friday night, the South-East derby between Wexford Youths Women and Kilkenny United was switched to an afternoon kickoff at Bunclody AFC. The switch of venues and recent fixture congestion did nothing to slow the Youth's momentum as they smashed double figures past newcomers Kilkenny. Kilkenny knew they were likely to face a serious challenge against the current League champions, but decided to line out as an attacking side to try to give the Youths a run for their money.

Both sides produced a number of chances early on but the scoring was opened by the Youths after ten minutes, Kylie Murphy scoring from the penalty spot. The Youths were awarded a second penalty just three minutes later, Kylie Murphy's effort was saved but Emma Hansberry was ready to stick away the rebound for two nil to Wexford.

Aoibhinn Webb made her first start since scoring a hat-trick away to Castlebar, and she played a key role in picking up the Youth's third of the night. Webb won the ball extremely well against the Kilkenny defence, who then fed the ball to Nicola Sinnott. Nicola Sinnott took a great shot from distance, with Aisling Frawley getting the last touch for 3-0 to Wexford on 24 minutes.

Kilkenny had still not given up hope on and struck back immediately. Sylvia Gee, a former Irish international who has appeared for Benfica, Leeds United and Chicago United over her 17 year footballing career, took an excellent free kick which skipped past Tamara Furlong for 3-1. Kilkenny even cut the deficit back to just one shortly afterwards, again through a Syvia Gee free kick.

The Youths responded quickly to snuff out Kilkenny's hopes, Aoibhinn Webb again a key player. This time Webb crossed to Frawley herself, who finished well for 4-2 to Wexford. At half-time Kilkenny did not look to be out of the game, but after the restart the Youths were simply unstoppable in Bunclody. Claire O'Riordan came off the bench to replace Jess Gleeson, which was just too much for the Kilkenny defence to cope with.

Claire O'Riordan scored the pick of the goals shortly after coming on, taking a shot from distance which curled in for 5-2. Emma Hansberry got her second of the night from a free kick for 6-2, and assisted the Youths' seventh goal when her cross was headed home by Claire O'Riordan for 7-2 to Wexford.

Aoibhinn Webb continued her excellent performance and picked up another assist when she set up Claire O'Riordan for her second, making it 8-2 to Wexford. Claire completed her hat-trick quickly with a lovely headed finish, again Aoibhinn Webb providing the cross. Emma Hansberry completed her hat-trick shortly afterwards, with a shot from the edge of the box making it 10-2 to Wexford, the Youths hitting double figures in the league for the second time this season. Frawley was the provider for Youths' eleventh of the night, with team captain Kylie Murphy heading home for her second. Aoibhinn Webb deservedly picked up a goal for herself just before full time, giving a final score of 12-2 in favour of Wexford in the south-east derby.
