Wexford FC RT @byrne_padraig: Also in tomorrow’s @Wexford_People is a fascinating story of a teenager who is swapping his native Odense in Denmark to…

Malike Hill Benrouguibi is the latest new signing at Ferrycarrig Park for the fast approaching 2020 season, the 22 year old attacking midfielder has previously played for Bohemians and Longford Town. Malike has also played for Ireland at under age level up to the U19s.

Malike signed for Bohemians U19s in 2014 and then moved to Longford Town for the 2015/16 season and was named in the first team squad while also playing with their U19s. Most recently he has been playing with Leinster Senior League side Bluebell United.

We caught up with Malike at training this week to discuss his move to Wexford FC and how it came about:

"Mokhtar Addani who has coached with Wexford FC first got in touch with me and asked if I was interested in getting back to playing League of Ireland football. I'm living in Wicklow right now so Wexford is ideal for me plus I know a good few of the lads that have signed already. I played with Dan Tobin before with Ireland and I've also played with Cian Kavanagh, top quality players, so it all seemed to work out. Delighted to sign and can't wait to get started now, I just want to push on and try help the team as much as I can and hopefully we can go on to have a very good season."

Wexford FC take on Shelbourne FC at the AUL Complex in Dublin tomorrow in our first pre-season fixture with the new 2020 season kicking off in February.
