Wexford FC RT @byrne_padraig: Also in tomorrow’s @Wexford_People is a fascinating story of a teenager who is swapping his native Odense in Denmark to…

Just three home games remaining for Wexford FC this season in the SSE Airtricity League First Division, the first of which sees the return of 5th placed Bray Wanderers to Ferrycarrig Park tomorrow evening. The Seagulls head into the game in good form, winning two of their last three games, home wins over Limerick and Athlone, drawing the other away to Galway. These recent results have kept the Wicklow side in the hunt for a play off place, just five points off 4th placed Cabinteely FC with five games still to play.

Last week Bray had a comfortable 3-0 win over Athlone at the Carlisle Grounds, new signing Dean Williams scoring a second half hat-trick against his former team. Gary Cronin's side have a good record at home (only Shelbourne and Longford have earned more points) but they've found results hard to come by on their travels. Of their nine defeats in the League this season, 7 of them have been on the road. One of those away defeats was at Ferrycarrig Park back in March. In their 8 away games since that defeat to Wexford they've lost 6, drawn 1 and won 1 on the road.

The sides have met three times this season, twice in the League and once in the League Cup. The first of the meetings was the League Cup First Round clash at the Carlisle Grounds in early March, Wanderers raced into a three goal half time lead (Daly, McGlade and Barnett) before a second half comeback from Wexford, Ryan Nolan and Sean Roche both scoring their first goals for the club. Wanderers hung on for a 3-2 win into the second round.

Wexford gained revenge three weeks later in a 2-0 League win at Ferrycarrig, Emmet Nugent and Jack Doherty scoring stunning goals to help Wexford to a first win of the season. The most recent game between the sides was back in May and ended in a 2-1 victory for Bray at the Carlisle Grounds, Derek Daly with both second half goals for the home team, Danny Furlong with a superb back heel finish for Wexford's goal.

Wexford's home record this season stands at 2 wins (Bray and Athlone), 3 draws and 5 defeats (Longford Town and Cabinteely FC will be the two final visitors to Ferrycarrig after tomorrow night's game). Manager Brian O'Sullivan will be hoping for a better start to the game this week after seeing his side go three goals down in the opening half hour in last week's defeat to League leaders Shelbourne at Tolka Park. He will have been encouraged by the fight shown in the second half though, a Danny Furlong double made it 3-2 with 30 minutes to go but the Reds pulled away again at the end to grab all three points in a 5-2 win. The week before Wexford had one of their best away performances of the season and were very unlucky not to come away with a win at St.Colman's Park (the game with Cobh ending in a 1-1 draw). Wexford's last home game at Ferrycarrig Park was on July 12th (a scoreless draw with Galway).

In Wexford team news, Chris Kenny is the only doubt for tomorrow's game as he continues to recover from groin surgery.

Kick off at Ferrycarrig Park on Friday is 7:45pm.
