#STRONGERTOGETHER

Wexford FC RT @YouthsWomen: We'd like to send our very best wishes and safe travels to two fantastic players and all-round super contibutors to the cl…

Wexford FC head to St.Colman's Park this evening still looking for a first away win of the season, a disappointing record of one draw and nine defeats on the road in 2019. They face a Cobh Ramblers side that have won their last three games at home (vs Bray, Galway and most recently Athlone) but who head into the game having lost two very promising young players during the week (Jaze Kabia and Denzil Fernandes signed by Shelbourne).

Wexford also have had their fair share of player turnover of late of course but Manager Brian O'Sullivan was very quick to act with a number of key recent signings who showed promise in last weeks draw with Galway at Ferrycarrig Park. In order for Wexford to get the first three points on the road, they'll have to defeat a team they've never beaten (3 draws and 6 defeats in the 9 League meetings) and certainly put in a much improved team performance than the last visit to St.Colman's Park, a 6-1 defeat (the heaviest loss of the season) on a rain soaked night in March. The second meeting of the sides this year at Ferrycarrig in May was more like it, an entertaining 2-2 draw. This evening's contest will be between two very different looking sides however, given the recent turnover of players at both clubs during the summer transfer window while both sides will be desperately looking for maximum points, especially after Friday night's results in the First Division which saw defeats for the teams sitting immediately above Wexford and Cobh in the table.

In team news, Stuart Ashton (who was named Cobh's interim Manager after the departure of Stephen Henderson in June) will be without Matt Lamb, James O'Driscoll and Kevin Taylor for this evening's clash but David Hurley returns after his recent spell with Ireland at the World University Games in Italy.

Meanwhile Brian O'Sullivan is still without the services of Chris Kenny and Andy Mulligan who are both recovering from long term injury while Andrew O'Connor is unavailable.

Kick Off at St.Colman's Park is at 7pm.
