Wexford FC RT @PGKgloves: The One with Tom Murphy Check out this weeks podcast. Great insight from a young goalkeeper moving across to Everton Footba…

Wexford FC are delighted to announce that Conor Sutton has re-signed with the club, the 21 year old midfielder made 17 appearances for the club in 2018 and despite missing the first half of the season through injury was voted Wexford FC Senior Player of the Year at the Club Awards Night last November. In total he has 29 starts and 3 sub appearances for the club since 2017. Due to college, Conor was unable to commit to the club at the start of the 2019 season and returned to play for his local team Curracloe United in the Wexford Football League.

Conor has been a virtual ever-present at Ferrycarrig Park since signing for Wexford Youths from Curracloe back in 2012, playing from U15s up to U19s before making his senior debut for Wexford Youths in 2015 vs Waterford United (Youths were crowned First Division Champions and gained promotion to the Premier Division that season). Conor made just the one appearance for Wexford Youths in 2016 (the club were eventually relegated back down to the First Division) and signed for Wexford FC in 2017. Conor spoke to the clubs media team at training this week about his return to Ferrycarrig:

"Well unfortunately I wasn't really able to commit for the first part of the season and then I got a call off Brian last week when the transfer window opened so I'm delighted to be back to help the team out. I've been down here a couple of times already watching the lads and I've been really impressed, I know it was hard at the start of the season, it was a completely new squad really, I think there was only 3 from last season but since the first few results they've really turned it around and hopefully I'll be able to help them out a bit more and try get up the table. It's a nice attractive style of football Brian is playing so I can't wait to get started. "

Wexford FC are away to Longford tomorrow night on match day 16 in the SSE Airtricity League First Division:

"I played up there last season and we got beat 3-0, so not too many fond memories last year, they've got some really good players, the likes of Aaron Dobbs and Sam Verdon but hopefully we can put in a good performance on Saturday, it'll be tough but we'll give it our best go."

Wexford FC play Longford Town on Saturday evening at the City Calling Stadium, kick off is at 7:30pm.
