Wexford FC RT @YouthsWomen: ⚽️ Goal number two for @RiannaJarrett from tonight’s 2-1 @YouthsWomen win over @CorkCityFCWomen at Ferrycarrig Park, assis…

Matchday Two for Wexford FC U17s and Billy Molloy's team continued their fine start to the new League season with a comfortable 4-1 win away to Limerick FC on Saturday afternoon. The surface at Hogan Park made it difficult for Wexford's passing game early on in a game initially with few chances. Limerick edged possession before taking the lead through Kenny Lee. Brody Murphy made it all square at the break with his third goal of the season (scoring two in last weeks 5-1 win over Carlow/Kilkenny FC). Three goals followed in a second half that was dominated by Wexford, Kyle Clancy volleyed in from a corner before Evan Farrell scored a fine individual goal to make it 3-1 with twenty minutes to go. Brody Murphy struck again with a right foot shot to wrap the three points up five minutes later. Next up is a home tie vs Cork City next week.

Matchday One for our U19s and Limerick FC exacted some revenge with another 4-1 scoreline, this one in favour of the side from Munster. James Quinn has quite a few new faces in his squad this season, mostly without League of Ireland experience, so plenty of lessons will have been learned in this afternoons defeat at Ferrycarrig Park. Tomas O'Connor put the visitors ahead after 17 minutes, a scrappy goal as the rain lashed down. Andrew Farrell, making his second appearance in a Wexford shirt this weekend after his turnout for the seniors in Cobh the night before, had a shot cleared off the line before Limerick went 2 up on 34 minutes, Edmond O'Dwyer heading in at the back post. Mark McInerney and Ronan McGuire added two more for the visitors in the second half before Farrell struck a consolation goal ten minutes before the end. Next up is a tough away fixture to Cork City.
