Wexford FC RT @YouthsWomen: ⚽️ @bkingslxy hat-trick from @YouthsWomen U17s win over @LimerickFCWomen at Ferrycarrig on Saturday!🎩⚽️💗 https://t.co/C9wU…

Wexford FC can confirm that Liam McCartan has re-signed with the club for the coming season, the 21 year old defender made 24 appearances for us in 2018 (with 18 starts).

Liam, who was previoulsy with Athlone Town and Limerick FC, is looking forward to the start of a new League of Ireland campaign at Ferrycarrig Park under new Wexford FC Manager Brian O'Sullivan:

"I'm delighted to have re-signed with Wexford FC. After talking and training with Brian and Breener it was an easy decision to sign back. This pre-season has been hard and extremely competitive, the quality of players that have come in give me great confidence for the season ahead. For the players that were there last year I feel there should be a real hunger to improve on the league position of last season. I hope we can push on now and play good football, get fans in the gate and more importantly get wins and points on the table."

Wexford FC are set to play Cobh Ramblers in a pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon with a 2pm kick off at St.Colman's Park.

The new SSE Airtricity League First Division season gets underway on Friday, 22nd September with an away game against Athlone Town at Lissywollen.
