Wexford FC You can now check out the action from last nights @WexfordFC draw with @GalwayUnitedFC at Ferrycarrig Park over on… https://t.co/avx5k5ah0B

On Saturday evening Wexford FC visit St.Colman's Park for the first time this season. We faced Cobh Ramblers twice there last year, in fact the venue was where Wexford FC played our first ever Airtricity League game in our short history, coming away with a point in a 1-1 draw (now Drogheda player, Lee Duffy with the goal). Our last visit to the ground back in July of 2017 saw a 2-0 defeat there.

Cobh had a terrific season last year as Stephen Hendersons men were runners up to big spending Waterford FC. There was a huge gap of 32 points between Cobh and Wexford at the end of that 2017 campaign, this year the Rams have found it much harder going and currently sit one place above us in the table in 8th position with just a 7 point gap between us after fifteen games played. However theres promising signs for the Rams that things are starting to click again with recent victories over Cabinteely and an excellent away win at Finn Harps, while their last match at St Colman's Park was a scoreless draw against much fancied Galway United (our next visitors to Ferrycarrig).

We have met twice already this season, back in March they came to Ferrycarrig and knocked us out of the EA Sports Cup 2nd round after a marathon 8-7 penalty shoutout win after a scoreless 120 minutes. They have since progressed to the semi finals of that competition where they face Dundalk in August. Our second meeting this season was in April in the League, again at Ferrycarrig, Aaron Dobbs scored our equalizer in a 1-1 draw after Anthony McAlavey had opened the scoring for the visitors.

Our last away game came just last week of course, the 4-1 defeat to Shelbourne, so this is a very important game for us to try ensure the team directly above us doesn't widen the points gap any further. Its also our last away League game before the mid-season break and would be a perfect time for us to add some much needed points. Damian Locke will still be without club captain Ross Kenny due to his broken toe injury picked up against Drogheda United while Mikey Byrne will also be unavailable in midfield.

Kick off at St.Colman's Park is set for 7:45pm.
